One of Jeremy Kyle’s most famous guests has passed away, according to the show host, and the 52-year-old was quick to pay his tributes to the woman that became an online sensation.

Jeremy Kyle revealed the news of the passing of Betty, known as the “warrior granny”.

He told viewers: “I’m sure you remember one of my most memorable guests on this show, Betty. She was one of my favourites, she was an online sensation – take a look at this my friends.”

The daytime show then ran a highlights video package of Betty’s moments on the show. The most memorable moments included confronting her a son-in-law after he suggested that she was sleeping around, and being accused of having a “benefit stick” by her daughter.

After tributes were paid, Jeremy then informed the audience that Betty’s daughter had been back in touch with the show regarding more family issues.

As the show-host introduced Betty’s daughter, he said: “Tracey says her long-standing feud with daughter Lucy has intensified, as Lucy apparently holds Tracey responsible for mum Betty’s death.

“Tracey’s here to set the record straight and basically tell her daughter to stop the abuse. Let’s somehow try and put this right, if for more than anything, mum’s memory.”

But Tracey and Lucy continued to bicker backstage, and as they did so, Jeremy tried to lay the foundation for resolution.

Airing more footage of Betty, he said: “This woman was unbelievable, one of my favourite guests of all time.

“Someone put something on YouTube and it became an internet sensation, millions of hits. I want you two to stop your hatred for one second and look at that screen and remember this lady, because I’m wondering what she’d think right now.”

Albeit hesitantly, the pair conceded and agreed to try their best to put arguments and family issues behind them and move on.
