Former Coronation Street star Ryan, who played Jason Grimshaw on the cobbles, has landed a role in another soap!
The 32-year old will play the role of Rafael Humphreys in the Australian classic soap Neighbours. His character will be a loner with dark secrets who rocks up to Ramsey Street to confront a trying chapter from his personal history.
Ryan said: “I grew up watching Neighbours, so to get the chance to join the cast is amazing.”
He continued: “I was on holiday with my daughter when I got a phone call from my agent asking if I’d like to play this part… I spoke to the producer and found out more – it was very different from anything I’d played before – it was quite a deep, dark story, that really interested me.”

Ryan joined the cast of Coronation Street on Christmas Day of 2000, and it was his first acting job after studying performing arts at Manchester University.
After sixteen years on the show, the Salford-native left the cobbles in June of last year, and since then he’s been on Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls on Channel 4.
Speaking on his new role in the popular Aussie soap, Ryan added: “It’s a new challenge and I can’t wait to start filming.”
Ryan will make his debut on Neighbours at some point next year.
