Pregnant Coleen Rooney to give shamed Wayne Rooney ‘one last chance’ following drink drive girl scandal
The former Manchester United, England and now Everton star Wayne Rooney has seen his marriage put under a huge amount of pressure since he made the news for being pulled in for drink driving while at the wheel of Laura Simpson’s car.
Following his latest brush with the law and with the headlines, it was thought that Rooney’s marriage was beyond saving, but it seems that wife Coleen doesn’t want to give up on their nine year marriage and 15 year relationship just yet, having met Rooney in secondary school, and has reportedly given the football superstar one last chance following his drink driving recklessness and Laura Simpson’s revelations to the media.
According to The Sun, the 31-year-old mother-of-three has decided to try and salvage their marriage after a great deal of discussion with her family, and with a fourth child on the way, Coleen is said to be “passionate” about making sure the family is kept together.
The incident took place in the early hours of Friday morning, and as a result, the England all-time leading goalscorer has been charged with drink-driving. He is also facing allegations regarding the time he spent with an attractive young woman, having been pulled over whilst behind the wheel of her car.
Despite the rumours of his marriage being past the point of saving however, sources close to Coleen have told the papers that she does not want to marriage to end.
An insider explained that “she’s furious and has been through every emotion, but after lots of discussion with close family and friends she’s concluded that she doesn’t want the marriage to end.
“She’s a mum of three with a fourth on the way, and she’s passionate about keeping their family together.”
The problems all began when, in the early hours of Friday morning, Wayne Rooney was found behind the wheel of Laura Simpson’s VW Beetle, under the influence following a night on the town.
It has since been revealed that the 31-year-old footballer kissed and cuddled the single mother, as he enjoyed a heavy night out while his wife was abroad on holiday with their three sons.
Subsequently, Laura spoke out over the weekend about the events of her evening out partying with the former England captain.
Speaking to Mail Online about her night with Wayne, she said:
“Was I going to spend the night with him? Yes, perhaps, we didn’t really discuss it. I’m not a marriage wrecker, it was all playful fun and I’d had loads to drink. We had a kiss, a hug..”
